RAGE is back. It only took 7 years, but today Bethesda snuck out an announcement trailer for RAGE 2, with a promise to reveal more details on May 15th.
The first RAGE released in 2011 and was basically a Borderlands / Mad Max / Fallout styled FPS set in a post-apocalyptic world. It was a huge technical achievement, boasting some of the best graphics and shooting action you could find on an Xbox 360 (and PC, of course) in 2011.
But RAGE fell silent; although it generally garnered positive reviews, it never went on to claim a lasting legacy like Fallout or Borderlands. Despite its AAA prestige and technical achievements, it was hard to escape a certain ‘meh’ over another post-apocalypse game in a genre dominated by heavyweights like Fallout and Borderlands.
Now, after 7 years of simmering, the anger has boiled over into RAGE 2. Check out the trailer below — it’s fun and backed by a very catchy, poppy tune.
