Popup dungeon

Popup Dungeon is positively charming

I’m not normally given to crowing about the latest Kickstarter, but every now and again one comes along that really strikes my fancy–like this one. Combine a Rogue-like dungeoncrawler with Minecraft-esque 8-bit charm, and you’ve got Popup Dungeon.

The particularly interesting aspect is that you can make nearly anything in the game–and character, class, or ability–using the in-game creation system. (It’s a little reminiscent of one of my favorite pen-and-paper RPGs, Champions.) To quote the press release, “Want nyancat’s face on bullwinkle’s body wielding a tommy gun that shoots ice beams? It can all be made through their system.”

Check out the video below and resist throwing money at it.
