Mionix delivers another excellent gaming mouse in the NAOS 7000 (even if it is just a ‘re-heated’ NAOS 3200). Regardless, the NAOS 7000 sports an ultra-comfortable, ergonomic right-handed design and a new 32-bit ARM CPU to enhance performance. With or without its new CPU “brain”, the NAOS 7000 is a smart mouse—and a smart buy.
The predecessor to the Mionix NAOS 7000—the Mionix NAOS 3200—has long been a personal favorite among gaming mice for its virtually perfect, form-fitting right-handed shape—a shape very similar to another mouse long popular with critics, the venerable SteelSeries Ikari.
If you use a ‘full palm’ style grip—or even a semi-relaxed ‘claw’ style grip—or just generally like a mouse with room rest your third finger (and a little of your pinky finger), then the Mionix NAOS provides a virtually perfect fit.

The NAOS 7000 is essentially just an update of the NAOS 3200, with the added ARM processor, enhanced customizable LED lighting, and an updated sensor capable of up to 7000DPI.

Comfort
The NAOS 7000, just like its predecessor the NAOS 3200 is arguably the most comfortable mouse I’ve ever used. Whether or not this is true for you obviously depends on your grip preference. But if you prefer a full palm grip, the NAOS 7000 molds perfectly to the shape of your hand. The NAOS 7000 feels like a natural extension of your hand, not just something you’re moving around with it.
In addition, the NAOS 7000 is covered in soft-touch rubber, so it stays cool and comfortable for the long haul.

Design
The NAOS 7000 is a virtually perfect marriage of comfort and simple but refined design. It offers you all the ‘essentials’ (see my gaming mouse buyer’s guide) in a comfortable package. Although it only sports 2 thumb buttons and may not satisfy button-hungry MMO players, the NAOS 7000 is otherwise perfect for nearly any game you’d care to throw at it. (Gaming mice without a ton of extra buttons seem to be marketed towards FPS gamers a lot these days).
The NAOS 7000 thumb buttons are within comfortable reach of a natural palm grip, and while not exceptional in their design they get the job (that is, whatever job you care to program them for) done reliably.
Software
The driver software for the NAOS 7000 is easily on par with the best driver software from competitors such as Logitech, Razer, and SteelSeries. The user interface is intuitive and its simplicity belies its powerful features.
The macro editor in particular is also comparable to what you’d expect from a top-tier manufacturer such as Razer or SteelSeries, with customizable timings, single and multi-keystrokes, etc.
Other features—LED customization, DPI settings, acceleration, polling rate, etc. are all available as well. Mionix doesn’t skimp on software features.
Performance
The NAOS 7000 tracks beautifully in favorite games such as Hi-Rez Studios SMITE, Bethesda’s Skyrim, and a few other casual titles—even if 7000DPI is a completely unnecessary level of sensitivity for gaming (or just about anything else).
Interestingly, it seemed to track (or at least it feels like it tracks) a little smoother on a soft, dark mouse mat (Coolermaster’s Control RX) or a desk as opposed to Mionix’s own Ensis 320 metal mouse mat. It also tracked well on a light-colored (almost white) desk surface that I had the opportunity to test with.
Overall: Highly Recommended
The Mionix NAOS 7000 offers supreme comfort, solid design and excellent driver software, and I have no qualms about calling it one of the best, most comfortable right-handed ergonomic mice that money can buy.
